Rescue Divas EMS Camp 2025 was held August 3–7 at Camp Crosswood in Mason, Wisconsin. This marked the first year the camp was hosted at this new location, which provided an excellent setting for both hands-on training and traditional camp activities. Twenty middle school girls from communities across northwest Wisconsin attended the week-long camp, where they explored careers and volunteer opportunities in emergency medical services while building confidence, leadership skills, and friendships.
The week began with orientation, team-building activities, and pre-assessments to help campers get to know one another and prepare for the training ahead. Campers also had the opportunity to learn about local EMS services during an evening visit from Mason Area Ambulance Service.
Throughout the week, participants completed CPR and First Aid training, along with additional instruction in bleeding control, water safety, and personal safety. Campers also participated in a soft skills workshop focused on communication, teamwork, and employability skills. Hands-on learning was a key component of the camp experience, including a full afternoon with Sawyer County Search and Rescue where campers practiced tracking, worked in a mock command center, and interacted with search dogs.

A full-day field trip allowed campers to explore a variety of public safety and healthcare careers. Stops included Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center, Northwood Technical College, the Ashland Police Department, and the Ashland Fire Department. Campers also had the opportunity to learn from emergency dispatchers, including two former Rescue Divas participants. That evening, deputies and K9 units visited camp to demonstrate their work.
The final day included self-defense training, followed by a closing presentation attended by families and guests where campers shared what they learned during the week.
In addition to EMS-focused activities, campers participated in traditional camp experiences such as a high ropes course, crafts, swimming, and campfires, helping to create a fun and supportive environment.

Rescue Divas 2025 was a successful week of hands-on learning and career exploration. The new location at Camp Crosswood worked well for the program, and participants left camp with increased knowledge of emergency services careers, improved skills, and greater confidence in their abilities.
